Echoes are a critical aspect of the combat system in Wuthering Waves and is the equipment of the Resonators. Equipping Echoes enhances your Resonators’ stats and abilities, making them more effective in battles.
Echoes in Wuthering Waves

Echoes are the primary means of boosting your Resonators’ stats in Wuthering Waves. Each Echo provides various stat increases, including HP, ATK, DEF, and Energy Regeneration, and comes with an active Echo ability.
- Each Resonator can equip up to five Echoes.
- Only the Echo equipped in the first slot provides its active ability. These abilities can significantly enhance your Resonator’s combat effectiveness, providing unique skills or buffs. Other echoes from the second to the last slot will increase the passive stat.
- Echoes have a cost requirement that ranges from 1 to 4, depending on their class. Resonators have a cost limit starting at ten and increasing to 12 with upgrades.
Echo Classes and Costs
Echoes in Wuthering Waves are categorized into four classes, each costing differently. The total cost of Echoes that a character with max ascension can equip is 12.
- Common Class (1 cost)
- Elite Class (3 cost)
- Overload Class (4 cost)
- Calamity Class (4 cost)
Echo Ranks
The effectiveness of Echoes increases with their rank. Aim for Rank 5 (Gold) Echoes for end-game content and save materials for upgrading to this rank.
Rank | Max Level | Max Number of Sub Stats |
---|---|---|
Rank 2 (Green) | 10 | 0 |
Rank 3 (Blue) | 15 | 3 |
Rank 4 (Purple) | 20 | 4 |
Rank 5 (Gold) | 25 | 5 |
Level Up Echoes
Echoes can be leveled up to increase their main stat bonuses. However, the sub-stats must be unlocked via tuning and cannot be changed or increased once set. The maximum level of an Echo is determined by its rarity, ranging from Rank 2 to Rank 5. Higher-rarity Echoes provide better base stats and greater improvements when upgraded.

Tuning Echoes
Tuning unlocks sub-stats every five levels using materials from Tacet Field Cleanup. Tuning is essential for maximizing the potential of your Echoes and ensuring your Resonators can perform at their best.
- Materials: Specific materials obtained from Tacet Field Cleanup are required for tuning. Higher rarity Echoes need more materials but provide greater stat boosts.

Data Bank

The Data Bank is an essential tool for tracking and planning your Echo usage. It is divided into three main sections: Data Dock, Echo Gallery, and Sonata Gallery.
Data Bank
Data Dock
The Data Dock is where you manage and upgrade your Echo collection. Here’s what you need to know:
- Echo Drop Rate: This starts at 10% and can increase to 20% at Data Dock level 10. Higher levels mean more frequent Echo drops from defeated enemies.
- Max Absorbable Rarity: This dictates the highest rarity of Echo you can obtain. It begins at Rank 2 and can reach Rank 5 at Data Dock level 15. You can only obtain Echoes up to one rank below your max absorbable rarity.
- Enhanced Absorption Probability: This is the percentage chance of absorbing the highest rarity Echoes available to you. It starts at 20% and can reach 100% at Data Dock level 20.
- Cost Limit: This restricts the total cost of Echoes you can equip on a Resonator. It starts at 10 and increases to 12 at Data Dock level 9.
- Upgrading the Data Dock: Collect unique Echoes that provide Data Dock EXP based on their rarity to upgrade. Each unique Echo can contribute up to 55 EXP.
Data Bank
Echo Gallery
The Echo Gallery functions as a compendium for your Echo collection:
- Echo Collection Progress: Track which Echoes you have obtained and see how they contribute to your Data Dock EXP.
- Sonata Effects: Review the possible Sonata set effects each Echo can provide, aiding in strategic planning for your Resonators.
- Tracking Echoes: Use this section to locate and track specific Echoes on the map, making it easier to complete your collection.
Data Bank
Sonata Gallery
The Sonata Gallery is dedicated to Sonata set effects:
- Sonata Effects Overview: Check each Sonata set effect, understanding what it does and how it enhances your Resonators.
- Echo Compatibility: Find out which Echoes can activate specific Sonata effects, helping you optimize your Echo combinations for maximum benefit.
