Collecting Echoes while exploring the open world is one of the fun things you can do in Wuthering Waves. They help boost your Resonators’ stats and aid in battle with damage or shields. If you don’t know what to do with the excess Echoes, you could try to recycle them through Data Merge in the Data Bank menu.

How to Recycle Echoes in Wuthering Waves

Unlock Data Merge

Wuthering Waves Data Bank

The first thing you need to do is to unlock “Data Merge” in your Data Bank. This can be done by reaching Data Bank Level 8. You must also be SOL3 Phase – Rank 3 to attain Data Bank Level 8. You could raise your Data Bank level simply by collecting more Echoes, especially ones you haven’t obtained.

Using Data Merge

After reaching SOL3 Phase – Rank 3 and Data Bank Level 8 in Wuthering Waves, a fourth symbol can be seen in the Data Bank under the Sonata Gallery. Data Merge is where you can merge or recycle 5 default Echoes into one random new Echo. You can auto-select Echoes or manually select them by pressing the plus (+) circle. After selecting the Echoes you no longer need, press Data Merge to get your new Echoes.

However, you cannot merge upgraded Echoes and cannot select any equipped or locked Echoes as Merge Materials. Merging Echoes is also a way to increase your Data Bank Level, as it sometimes gives you a Data Bank experience.

New Echoes

The Rarity of the new Echo is subject to your Data Bank level. It is not determined by the Rarity of the merged Echoes. Even if you merge five Common (Green) Echoes, you could still get a Purple Rarity Echo.

Extras

Data Merge produces at least one random new Echo, and, if you are lucky, extra Echoes. Merging Echoes of higher Rarity and COST for a higher chance to produce extras.
